Current UND Tuition and Fees
North Dakota Tuition Rate

The following students are eligible for the
North Dakota resident tuition rate regardless of actual state of legal
residency:
1. Active duty military for more than 30
days (includes National Guard and Reserves if active duty for other than
training purposes)*
2. Member of North Dakota National Guard*
3. Military Veteran (see definition **
below)
4. Spouse and dependents of all of the above
This tuition rate policy includes undergraduates, graduates,
medical students, and law students.
*UND ROTC members that are not
members of the ND National Guard nor full time active duty members of a U.S.
Military branch do not qualify under this category.
**A “veteran” is defined as an individual who has served on
continuous federalized active military duty for one hundred eighty days or the
full period for which the individual was called or ordered to active military
duty for reasons other than training, and who was discharged or released under
other than dishonorable conditions. A discharge reflecting “expiration of term
of service” or “completion of required service” or words to that effect
qualifies the shorter term of service as making the individual a veteran.

Students who qualify for the North Dakota tuition rate under
this policy must document their eligibility by providing a copy of their DD214,
documentation of active duty status, or membership in the National Guard or
Reserves to:
- Carol Anson, Veteran Certifying Official

- Twamley Hall Room 211
- 264 Centennial Drive Stop 7115
- Grand Forks, ND 58202-7115.
